SubTitle Animator .srt for After Effects

SubTitle Animator is a custom ScriptUI panel that automates and simplifies subtitle animations in Adobe After Effects. Easily import .srt files and apply entry/exit animations with movement, expansion, or rotation — all with one click.

• 🔄 Convert Subtitles:
  Converts .srt files (exported from Premiere Pro) into text layers in After Effects.
• 🔵 Animate Entry with Motion:
  Animates text entering from the left with smooth movement.
• ⚡ Animate Entry with Expansion:
  Text scales in with opacity animation and optional rotation.
• 🔵 Animate Entry:
  A basic fade-in or pop animation.
• 🔴 Animate Exit:
  Applies exit animations to selected text layers.
• 🎛️ Rotation Control:
  • Slider to set custom rotation amount (from -10° to +10°).
  • Option to apply random rotation to each layer.
  • Visible only when using Animate Entry with Expansion.
• 🔁 Reset Animation:
  Clears all expressions (position, scale, opacity, rotation) from selected layers.

📁 Installation

Open After Effects.

Go to File > Scripts > Install Script File.

Select the file SubTitle Animator.jsxbin and click Open.

Restart After Effects.

Once restarted, open the panel from Window > SubTitle Animator.

💡To install the additional script sub_srt.jsx (to import .srt files as text), repeat the steps above selecting that file.

📄 What is an .srt file?

An .srt file is a standard subtitle format used for syncing text with video.
To export it from Premiere Pro:
File > Export > Captions/Subtitles and select the .srt format.

⚠️ Important Notes

• Make sure to place the panel and all script dependencies (sub_srt.jsx, animar_entrada.jsx, etc.) in the same folder.
• Works best when used on text layers generated from the SRT converter.
• Compatible with After Effects 2020+.

Animador de Subtítulos es un panel personalizado (ScriptUI) que automatiza y facilita la creación de animaciones de texto en Adobe After Effects. Permite importar archivos .srt y aplicar animaciones de entrada y salida con movimiento, expansión o rotación, todo con un solo clic.

✅ Funcionalidades

• 🔄 Convertir Subtítulos:
  Convierte archivos .srt (exportados desde Premiere Pro) en capas de texto dentro de After Effects.
• 🔵 Animar Entrada con Movimiento:
  Anima el texto entrando desde la izquierda con un movimiento suave.
• ⚡ Animar Entrada con Expansión:
  Anima la entrada del texto con escala, opacidad y opción de rotación.
• 🔵 Animar Entrada:
  Aplica una animación básica de entrada (como un fade-in o pop).
• 🔴 Animar Salida:
  Aplica animaciones de salida a las capas de texto seleccionadas.
• 🎛️ Control de Rotación:
  • Control deslizante para definir el ángulo de rotación (-10° a +10°).
  • Opción para aplicar rotación aleatoria a cada capa.
  • Visible solo al usar la opción Animar Entrada con Expansión.
• 🔁 Reset Animación:
  Elimina todas las expresiones (posición, escala, opacidad y rotación) de las capas seleccionadas.

📁 Instalación

1. Abrí After Effects.
2. Andá al menú Archivo > Secuencias de comandos > Instalar archivo de secuencia de comandos.
3. Seleccioná el archivo SubTitle Animator.jsxbin y presioná Abrir.
4. Reiniciá After Effects.
5. Una vez reiniciado, abrí el panel desde Ventana > SubTitle Animator.

💡 Para instalar el script adicional sub_srt.jsx (para importar archivos .srt como texto), repetí los pasos anteriores seleccionando ese archivo.

📄 ¿Qué es un archivo .srt?

Un archivo .srt es un formato estándar de subtítulos que se usa para sincronizar texto con video.
Para exportarlo desde Premiere Pro:
Archivo > Exportar > Subtítulos y seleccioná el formato .srt.

⚠️ Notas importantes

• Asegurate de colocar el panel y todos los archivos de script (sub_srt.jsx, animar_entrada.jsx, etc.) en la misma carpeta.
• Funciona mejor si usás las capas de texto generadas desde el conversor .srt.
• Compatible con After Effects 2020 en adelante.
